Jesus Follower: This week, while in prayer, The Lord prompted me with the scripture from Romans 14:23, “for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (KJ) Wrap your mind around that one if you will. Sin, of course, is defined as a “falling short” of the glory of God. To many, Romans 14:23 simply means if God doesn’t tell you something is all right to do, don’t do it; or, if He tells you to do something, then you better do it. But I think this means so much more. Shouldn’t we, in our walk with Jesus, constantly be seeking His guidance, His presence in our lives in the tightest-knit relationship we have with anyone, including even our spouse or family members or friends? And if we are not doing that, are we not destined to fall short of God’s glory? Do we short-change God, or even more so, ourselves? As so many in the world walk further and further away from God and Truth, including many who claim or formerly claimed to know Jesus, I want to hold even tighter to God’s hand for guidance, leading, and relationship through reading God’s Word, prayer, meditation, and participating in regular worship and fellowship. Do you, brothers and sisters, feel the same?

Unbeliever: How do you feel about the direction of our culture today in America? The world? Are we headed in a good direction or otherwise? Is the world becoming a place of greater peace or of greater chaos? What about the very foundation of our society, the family? In general, are families closer today or drifting further apart? What of popular culture? Music? Television? Sports? Entertainment? What of law and order? How about jobs? Are people able to forge a living for themselves easier today or is it more difficult than 20 years ago? 10 years ago? Are people today more or less rebellious than 20 years ago? 10 years ago? What of drug, alcohol, sexual addictions? Is addiction more rampant today than 20 years ago? 10 years ago? What of social unrest? Are we more at peace personally and societally than we were 20 years ago? How about 10 years ago? What of “religion,” no matter what “faith” or “denomination?” Do you believe God exists? Aren’t we all seeking to love and be loved and to be at peace, internally and externally? Is it possible that we are looking for these in the wrong places? How has what you’ve tried so far worked? Are you really at peace within? Do you have a clear conscience? Do you believe in heaven and hell? What about your future? Eternally? Have you ever considered knowing more about the God of The Bible and His Son Jesus, whom The Father sent to seek and to save that which was lost? What if you believed the gospel message and invited Jesus to come and live within your heart, repented of your sin, and changed your life? Have you considered it? Why, or why not? It is my sincere prayer that you would seek Jesus, and if there is any way John or I can help you, please ask how this “rebirth” can happen, and we can help guide you through the very simple process. Can we pray for you? I was once an unbeliever, too, and I can assure you, I simply cannot imagine my life today without Jesus. God implores us to “come to Him and let us reason together.” Won’t you give Jesus a try?

The Church

For the majority of people in society when someone says the church they automatically think of their local church down the street or a nearby church when in fact the building that a “church” is in has really nothing to do with the true “Church”. Yes that is with a capital “C”. By a true definition the Church is the body of Jesus Christ or in other words it is all the true Christians, not just a building where people go and call themselves Christians!

So let’s take a quick look at the people inside these churches who call themselves Christians. According to a survey 49% of these people believe that living with someone of the opposite sex without being married was morally okay. 33% of those professing to be born again Christians thought that it was okay to kill a baby while it is still in the womb.

53% of men belonging to Promise Keepers, (they make a promise to be committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual purity) 53% of those men said they visit porn sites every week. How about this one where a survey of 6,000 pastors found that 30% of those pastors had viewed internet porn in the last 30 days.

Close to half of those calling themselves Christians believe that Satan does not exist. 33% say that Jesus sinned while He was on earth. Jesus “knew no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21), He “committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth” (1 Peter 2:22).

41% of self-proclaimed Christians believe that “the Bible, the Koran and the Book of Mormon are all different expressions of the same spiritual truths”, they are NOT!

The point here is that, no wonder the church is seen by many as hypocritical. Most people in a church or those saying they are Christians are not. The true Christians are usually pretty easy to pick out they are the ones that show love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. They are doing things to help others! No works cannot earn you salvation but if you truly are a Christian then you have a desire to do these works.

The Bible clearly says that we are saved by grace through faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9), but it also says that faith without works is dead (James 2:17), we can be saved without good works just like the thief on the cross who died immediately after he placed his faith in Jesus (Luke 23:43). But as a rule, good works are evidence of our faith, a sign that we are Christians and we are part of the true Church.

We need to regularly “examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith, test yourselves (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Please do this and do not just assume that you are a Christian. Jesus loves you and you need to be sure of this.

Thank you for reading this and please feel free to comment, please keep everything PG.

Until next time “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5

Thanks again and God bless you,

Message to All Christians

A message to all ” Born Again Christians”.  You may ask what is a “born again Christian”?  If you need to ask if you are one or what it is, then you need to reevaluate weather you are a Christian or not, because if you are not born again you are not a Christian!

Now, Christian know this, that you are in a war on this Earth and you are a soldier of Christ, but you must know that your enemies are not the people that believe in another god or those that do not believe in anything or even those that just upset you because they will not listen or understand what they are being told.  No, these are not your enemies.   I to have felt this way but you must remember this from Ephesians 6:12 “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”.  Now here, what and who are the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this world?  These are Satan and his demons!  As a soldier these are your enemies and this battle goes on every day, this is the battle for souls.  But soldier of Christ you must also understand that you are not only a soldier but also an ambassador for Christ!  As an ambassador your mission is to pass on this truth to all.  The Good News of the gospel, the truth about Jesus Christ.  His death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection!  Again this is where your battle is not against flesh and blood, although it will feel like that many times, but as an ambassador your duty is to teach the truth to all those who have been blinded, do not understand, or even have refused to hear.  You must approach all other humans with the understanding that they are fellow soldiers and ambassadors who have been captured by the enemy and brain washed and blinded to the truth by the disease of sin.  Now remember your job as an ambassador is not to convince them to come back but only to present the truth and then let your King to the rest through His Holy Spirit.  He is who saves, not us!  Your duty is to spread the truth of Jesus Christ. Be kind and show the love of Jesus to a needy world, be faithful and obedient to what God’s Word says.  Study, read your Bible every day, get involved in a good Bible teaching church and pray, live a life like Jesus did!  Remember judgment is coming and coming soon!

Bible Prophesy

Bible Prophesy

The Bible has predicted event after event through history with 100% accuracy, many to the exact day, and up to now everything is occurring exactly as the Bible says it will.

Prophesy is a key component of the Bible that can be used to show anyone that the Bible is no ordinary book, but is the inspired work of God.  Anyone who truly examines Bible prophesy will see that the prophesies are 100% accurate and clear and that being the case only God could have inspired the Bible.  There are many sacred religious books in the world from many religions that do have many good things to say, but only the Bible has fulfilled prophecies.  The Bible has been 100% accurate up to now and will continue to be 100% accurate in the future.  The Bible says it is inspired by God(2 Tim. 3:16). Since God is the creator of all things (Isaiah 44:24), then He is also the creator of time.  Only He controls time and all things.  This is why only God knows and can tell us of the future.

Fulfilled prophecy is proof that God is the author of the Bible, simply take a look at the odds of prophecy being fulfilled.  You will see that only God could have done such a thing and then you will also begin to see the design, the purpose, and the guiding hand throughout the Bible.  If just one prophecy failed, then Bible prophesy would count no more than anything else and would prove that the God of the Bible is not the one true God, because He would be unable to know all things.  Deut. 18:22 says, “If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken.  That prophet has spoken presumptuously” (NIV). Isaiah 46:9-10 says, “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.  I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

Bible prophecy basically is the prediction of future events.  These prediction or prophecies are found throughout the entire Bible, but the majority of prophesy is found in, Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew 24, Matthew 25, and Revelation. These prophesies include such things as descriptions of global politics, natural disasters, the future of the nation of Israel, the coming of a Messiah and a Messianic Kingdom, and the end times. When talking of the end times in Bible prophesy many will talk about the end of the world but in fact the bible tells us that the world will never end, what the correct translation is, is the end of the age.

The Biblical prophets are usually considered to have received revelations from God, subsequently recording them in the relevant writings.
