Do you love the Lord? Then do His will and reach out to those for whom He shed His precious blood. Too many of us raise our hands in worship to God, but refuse to reach out our hands in evangelism for God.
Christianity is up against the fight of its life. The world is kicking Christian principles and beliefs to the curb, fast and furious. Momentum against the Christian faith is accelerating, fueled not just by intolerance alone, but by fervent hatred. In America and around the globe, new legal actions are being initiated almost daily that are slowly suffocating religious freedoms while the Christian community is largely silent. Why is that?
Perhaps the battle is as much spiritual as it is cultural, and many Christians have not properly equipped themselves for the spiritual side of warfare. There cannot be victory over one without victory over the other.
The following examples of anti-Christian agendas reveal just how pervasive the war against Christianity has become in the United States.
The Christian fish symbol many proudly display on their cars, representing the Greek letters that stand for Jesus Christ as God’s Son and Savior, is being mocked with a copy of a similar fish, only this one has evolved legs with feet, and contains the letters “DARWIN’, representing the scientific theory of Evolution.
Nativity scenes are being banned from public properties. Many schools are no longer displaying Christmas trees; one has even banned the colors green and red from its “Winter Party.” Department stores have instructed their employees not to say “Merry Christmas” to store customers.
Bumper stickers denouncing prayer, state in bold letters, “DON’T PRAY IN OUR SCHOOLS AND WE WON’T THINK IN YOUR CHURCHES!” Chaplains serving in government-run facilities are no longer permitted to pray in the name of Jesus.
Universities are forbidding Bible Studies to be held on their properties. People are being fined for holding Bible Studies in their own homes, in violation of local city zoning codes.
The Arizona Book Banning and Burning Board (ABBBB), a division of the Arizona Dept. of Education, has outlawed any teaching of, or reference to, the Bible in its schools. The organization found both books of the Bible (Old and New Testaments) to be in violation of Arizona’s HB2281 (aka the Ethnic Studies Bill) by being “totally biased in favor of the Jews” and teaching the “superiority of the Jewish race.”
Christians and Christian groups have been targeted by the military and the IRS as “religious extremists” and “domestic hate groups.”
Christian ministries involved in pro-life activities were IRS targets, with one group being demanded by the government to provide the content of its prayers. In Wyoming, a church was ordered by government officials to turn over its membership lists, and a North Carolina Baptist newspaper was audited, as was Billy Graham Ministries.
In a blazing letter to President Barack Obama, the Rev. Franklin Graham blasted the IRS for targeting the two non-profits he heads with an audit in 2012 after the organizations took out ads urging people to support biblical principles on marriage and when choosing political candidates.
New demands for Bibles to be removed from hotel rooms and banned from hospital rooms are being forcefully voiced, citing unconstitutionality.
Christian bakers, florists and photographers have been dragged into court by individual states for discrimination charges when they have declined to offer their services for same-sex weddings. On all accounts, the lower courts have ruled that gay rights supersede religious rights.
Some churches are considering changing their bylaws now, in preparation for eventually being sued because they will not conduct same-sex wedding ceremonies. Churches fear that it’s only a matter of time before a lawsuit is initiated.
How You Can Take a Stand
A message to all ” Born Again Christians”. You may ask what is a “born again Christian”? If you need to ask if you are one or what it is, then you need to reevaluate weather you are a Christian or not, because if you are not born again you are not a Christian!
Now, Christian know this, that you are in a war on this Earth and you are a soldier of Christ, but you must know that your enemies are not the people that believe in another god or those that do not believe in anything or even those that just upset you because they will not listen or understand what they are being told. No, these are not your enemies. I to have felt this way but you must remember this from Ephesians 6:12 “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. Now here, what and who are the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this world? These are Satan and his demons! As a soldier these are your enemies and this battle goes on every day, this is the battle for souls. But soldier of Christ you must also understand that you are not only a soldier but also an ambassador for Christ! As an ambassador your mission is to pass on this truth to all. The Good News of the gospel, the truth about Jesus Christ. His death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection! Again this is where your battle is not against flesh and blood, although it will feel like that many times, but as an ambassador your duty is to teach the truth to all those who have been blinded, do not understand, or even have refused to hear. You must approach all other humans with the understanding that they are fellow soldiers and ambassadors who have been captured by the enemy and brain washed and blinded to the truth by the disease of sin. Now remember your job as an ambassador is not to convince them to come back but only to present the truth and then let your King to the rest through His Holy Spirit. He is who saves, not us! Your duty is to spread the truth of Jesus Christ. Be kind and show the love of Jesus to a needy world, be faithful and obedient to what God’s Word says. Study, read your Bible every day, get involved in a good Bible teaching church and pray, live a life like Jesus did! Remember judgment is coming and coming soon!
This section is for true Born Again Christians. You may call yourself a Christian but does your life and the decisions you make reflect that?
That is your first step. Make sure you are a true born again believer. If you say I am a Christian but I am not born again, then you are not a Christian because all true Christians are born again. If not then they are what is called a false convert. “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3 You must be able to evaluate yourself and your actions regarding this. Visit the “test” section under “the Law” for some help with this.
Now with that said let’s see what you can do to take a Stand as a Christian.
First make sure you are reading your Bible every day, this is vital to your obedience and relationship with God.
Second, pray every day, not just when you need something or when things are going good, but all the time, offering praise to God for all things.
Third, make sure you are in a Bible teaching church, one that does not compromise on Biblical truth. Once you have that church, make sure you are attending every week, not just when it is convenient for you, get involved at your church.
These first three are just the basic needs for a Christian and their growth. These things you should be doing without question, so now let’s really get down to how you can take a Stand.
Be out spoken about your faith, do not compromise or hide that you are a Christian.
Witness, talk to people about the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Do not give in to peer pressure, take your stand as a Christian and then say why you are taking that stand. Do this all with love and not a condemning heart, for we all are sinners and have made the same mistakes, let this lead to telling those around you of their need for Jesus, the only way to God. “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me”. John 14:6
Volunteer to help at your church or in any other way to help those in need.
Set a good example for all those who see you, let how you live your life and actions you take be a witness to those around you.
Begin witnessing to people. This may be a very difficult thing to do, but at the very least start handing out or just dropping “tracts” on cars, in shopping carts, anywhere you can think of. Some people do not like or are not big fans of gospel tracts but they have been proven to be very effective in bringing people to Christ. Remember, we do not save anyone, only God does that! (for tracts we recommend tracts from Livingwaters.com)
Pray for those in need, for our cities, countries, friends, families and all those who need the Good News of Jesus Christ. “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
Just do something, take a Stand for Christ. If you call yourself a Christian, then you are a soldier of Christ, and stop sitting safely on the sidelines, because we are all in a war, on the front lines, obey your King and “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”. Mark 16:15
Live for Christ not for this world, choose your side, either you are soldier of Christ or you are a soldier of Satan. If you are a soldier of Christ then be the best soldier you can be and take your Stand for your King!
