The Bible has predicted event after event through history with 100% accuracy, many to the exact day, and up to now everything is occurring exactly as the Bible says it will.
Prophesy is a key component of the Bible that can be used to show anyone that the Bible is no ordinary book, but is the inspired work of God. Anyone who truly examines Bible prophesy will see that the prophesies are 100% accurate and clear and that being the case only God could have inspired the Bible. There are many sacred religious books in the world from many religions that do have many good things to say, but only the Bible has fulfilled prophecies. The Bible has been 100% accurate up to now and will continue to be 100% accurate in the future. The Bible says it is inspired by God(2 Tim. 3:16). Since God is the creator of all things (Isaiah 44:24), then He is also the creator of time. Only He controls time and all things. This is why only God knows and can tell us of the future.
Fulfilled prophecy is proof that God is the author of the Bible, simply take a look at the odds of prophecy being fulfilled. You will see that only God could have done such a thing and then you will also begin to see the design, the purpose, and the guiding hand throughout the Bible. If just one prophecy failed, then Bible prophesy would count no more than anything else and would prove that the God of the Bible is not the one true God, because He would be unable to know all things. Deut. 18:22 says, “If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously” (NIV). Isaiah 46:9-10 says, “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”
Bible prophecy basically is the prediction of future events. These prediction or prophecies are found throughout the entire Bible, but the majority of prophesy is found in, Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew 24, Matthew 25, and Revelation. These prophesies include such things as descriptions of global politics, natural disasters, the future of the nation of Israel, the coming of a Messiah and a Messianic Kingdom, and the end times. When talking of the end times in Bible prophesy many will talk about the end of the world but in fact the bible tells us that the world will never end, what the correct translation is, is the end of the age.
The Biblical prophets are usually considered to have received revelations from God, subsequently recording them in the relevant writings.
