What is Salvation?

What is Salvation?

What is salvation?  What is definitely the Christian doctrine of salvation ? Salvation is deliverance from threat or suffering. To save would be to deliver or shield. The term holds the thought of triumph, well being, or preservation.   What is Salvation?     Salvation can best be understood to be deliverance of all curses, which includes death. Therefore, salvation can’t be restricted to the first phase of redemption which is forgiveness of sins.  That is the bottom line but it goes much deeper than that.

What is Salvation?  When the majority of people think about salvation or just being saved, they often picture within their thoughts an individual at risk on the point of losing his/her life.  Some picture a far more vivid illustration showing an individual within the water and becoming overtaken by the ocean, and yet another individual in close proximity tossing a life band towards the individual sinking.  The individual in fact tossing the life band is generally doing this from the position of safety; as a result, accommodating the one who is at risk of losing their life.  The image within the Bible is clearly shown again and again as God standing up in the position of power over-all creation and tossing humanity a life band, so they might be saved from the occurrence of spiritual death.

God is standing in the location of power and security, and He has thrown Jesus (our life band) in the ocean of humanity even as we battle with the smashing ocean of life.  Jesus was sent to the earth in order to save (us) all from certain death.

What is salvation? Jesus is our salvation, He’s our truth, and He is our life; all we must do is believe in Him and repent (turn away) of our sins.  He’s already paid the cost, we simply need to accept the gift.

What is salvation today? It’s the exact same thing it has always been since our Lord Christ Jesus proceeded to go to the cross. Are you currently an active participant in God’s plan and seeking to save each one of humanity? Then you’re involved in only one particular task; speaking the gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto salvation.

You wonder “What is salvation and just what am I being saved from.” I answer, (only from the Scripture) that right after the passage in which the Apostle Paul has declared that the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto Salvation, he goes on to say: “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.  You are being saved from Judgment.  We will all stand before God on that day and be accountable for all of our actions, we are all guilty and unless you accept the gift God have provided through Jesus Christ you will be found guilty and your final destination will be hell.
